"Eddie’s acting workshop was such a blast! I was impressed by his ability to identify small changes that we as actors could make to change the whole dynamic of a scene. He challenged us to get the best out of what we could offer and I learned a ton in such a short amount of time. I would recommend to anybody that has even the slightest bit of interest in acting.”

- David Fershtadt, Production Manager at Macy’s

"I took one of Eddie’s acting workshops and had a great time. He brings great energy and is incredibly attentive to the actors when they are working. After my scene, he offered helpful feedback with adjustments and created a collaborative atmosphere that encouraged participation and opened up the conversation for other students to comment on the work they were seeing. I would definitely take Eddie’s class again!"

- Max Vaupen, Actor

"Eddie’s classes make you feel welcomed and included. Hilarious icebreakers and dynamic feedback are things you can expect in an Eddie Datz acting workshop. Eddie made my first class feel like my hundredth. What I enjoyed most about Eddie’s class was how easy it felt to slip into a role and play a beloved character. Truly can’t recommend this class enough."

"Eddie is an incredible teacher. The way he makes you feel comfortable and approaches each scene is truly fascinating to watch. I came into one of his workshops with zero acting background and read a monologue from the Daniel Craig film Defiance. Eddie’s feedback and context he gave me for the scene influenced my choices in a positive way. He’s patient and offers remarkable feedback. Do not hesitate to learn from one of the best!"

- Evan Naar, Corporate Legal Counsel at WHP Global/Host of Entertainment Law Podcast "End Scene"/"Naar and the Stars" Blogger

"Eddie was a fantastic acting teacher. Regardless of background he was able to work with every student to help them understand their characters' motivations and how they should approach each scene. The class is fun, interactive, and easy to jump in to for a beginner or an expert. Would highly recommend."

- Noam Brenner, Project Associate at CPRL

"I went to Eddie's first acting workshop with almost no acting or theater experience. Although I was nervous at first, I found myself quickly loosening up and having fun. Eddie's enthusiasm and passion for the craft was clear in his coaching. He paid careful attention to each participants' acting performance and gave personalized, insightful feedback. Moreover, he provided guidance to people of all different acting ability levels in the workshop, making people like myself feel welcome and free to express themselves theatrically. Because of my highly-positive experience with Eddie, I continued on to take several more of his acting workshops. I felt like I learned a lot in each session that I took. By taking these workshops with him, I've come to better appreciate the time and commitment it takes to be a highly-skilled actor. I highly recommend anyone who is interested to take at least one workshop with Eddie!"

- Owen Smith, Consultant at Accenture

"I really enjoyed going to Eddie's acting workshop, he is a fantastic actor and teacher! After having myself and other attendees pick a scene to rehearse, we then rehearsed the scene and Eddie shared live feedback about how we could strengthen our performances! Through his detailed analysis and insights, I was able to significantly improve my acting skills. I'd highly recommend anyone interested in this space to attend; it'll be a great experience!"

- Josh Goldberg, Data Analyst at Disney

- Harley Neiditz, Fordham Law Student

“Thank you so much for your support, kindness and inspiration. It is always a struggle for me to be confident on stage, but talking with you and being able to be authentically me was so refreshing and I greatly appreciate you. It is also amazing to see your vision and approaches to different folks' situations and I truly do admire you.”

- Charlie, High School Theatre Student

"I’m writing on behalf of Eddie Datz and his acting workshops, to recommend him as an acting teacher unlike any other I’ve had. Having seen Eddie perform, and performing standup comedy myself, I can say from personal experience that it is often hard to translate ones’ talents and more courageous artistic temperaments to others, and bring their self-expression to its highest potential. With that said, Eddie has displayed a unique skill in identifying scenes that speak out to the most emotional and gripping elements of performing in plays, movies, and TV shows, without delving too much into what necessarily built the characters up. In doing so, Eddie often allows his students to interpret their characters’ histories however they want, and tweak their performances according to what makes the students themselves unique and original.  Overall, Eddie is a talented teacher because of what he enables his students to achieve. I highly recommend him as an acting workshop professional.”

- Josh Ostroff, Software Engineer

“Eddie creates a welcoming, safe space for beginning and experienced actors alike. He is a clear, effective communicator, consistently providing insight and valuable tools, and never losing sight of the fact that, at its best, acting is a beautiful amalgam of empathy, exploration, and play.”

- Sam Daniel, Actor/Model/Screenwriter

"I, without a doubt, recommend hiring Eddie to teach acting workshops! He creates a fun and supportive environment while also giving insightful and implementable feedback. He is able to assess and give a note that is going to take your acting to the next level no matter what your starting point is when you walk into the class, from people where it is their first times holding a script to seasoned professionals. I love attending Eddie’s acting workshops!"

- Becky Rusch, Actress

"Dynamic, energizing, engaging…these are only a few words to describe the work of Eddie Datz. His workshops and coachings get results. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Eddie for ten years and am always impressed with the work that he brings to the studio. If you are looking for someone to bring real world expertise and training to your school or theater company, don’t look any further.”

- Matt Morgan, Vocal Coach

"Eddie is a real master of his craft—his workshop has been an aid for aspiring actors in any walk of life, but also has empowered people towards an agency over themselves that can be used in becoming their highest version of self. As a participant of his program, I experienced the magic of his approach firsthand.  In Eddie’s workshop, I felt guided by someone with both the knowledge of an expert and a deep care applied towards a whole group and individuals alike. To me, Eddie is a powerful resource for anyone wishing to expand their ability as an actor and grow their presence in any area of the stage of life."

 - Perry Spector, Author/Poet

"I had the pleasure of being in class with Eddie last summer. Eddie was able to bring out an effortless authenticity in my performance that was true to myself, the character, and the text. I noticed this in the other students as well. Eddie is patient, specific, and really helps guide you in the best direction to serve the scene and present your best and unique work to any piece. He's a skilled performer and artist and it was great to work with him."

- Leonidas Grimanis, Actor

“Eddie helped me prepare for a very important callback by working one-on-one with me to break down every word and character choice. His patience and encouragement made me feel completely at ease, and his direction gave me the tools to truly connect with my material. What stood out most was how much he genuinely cares about helping you succeed — offering different approaches, exercises, and ideas until everything really clicks. Thanks to his insightful guidance, I was able to connect with the motivation and background of the songs and scenes I prepared, which allowed me to deliver a grounded yet freeing audition.”

- Andrea Hernandez, Actor/Musical Improviser

“I’m an Electrophysiology Cardiac Mapper for Boston Scientific — which is really just a mouthful of a title meaning I’m an engineer, not an actress. I went to Eddie’s workshop looking for a mini escape from my everyday world, and I had an absolutely phenomenal time. Eddie treated us as if we were professional actors. I chose a monologue from New Girl (which I had never even seen before) and made it my own. Eddie specifically encouraged me not to mimic Zooey Deschanel’s performance, but to find my own version of the character — to bring my own truth to it. As I read, he paused me to give thoughtful feedback on tone, posture, and meaning; making sure I truly understood what I was saying. I loved that guidance; it gave me direction and helped me connect with the intent behind the words.  My favorite coaching tip from Eddie was simple but powerful: to get the audience to believe you — tell the truth.  Honestly, I laughed so much during the workshop and left feeling both inspired and recharged. I fully intend to attend again.”

- Danielle Niremberg, Electrophysiology Cardiac Mapper at Boston Scientific

"Thank you so much for your response, your passion for theatre is so inspiring."

- Ruby Miller, High School Theatre Student

- Michael Woo, Director at Teamworks

- Andrew Manas, Media Planning Manager at Publicis Group

- Benny Klein, Hebrew School Teacher/Camp Counselor

Even if you’re not aiming for the stage, this workshop is great for anyone who wants to build confidence, try something new, or improve public speaking."

- Sarah Krieger, School Advancement Manager at Prizmah

“What sets Eddie apart is his balance of warmth and precision. He meets you exactly where you are: If you’re a seasoned performer, he pushes you; if you’re just exploring, he holds space for you to play. I left the class thinking, ‘Okay, yeah, I can do this - and better than I thought.'"

- Amanda Warshaw, Manager at Weber Shandwick

"I have known Eddie Datz from day one. I can honestly and proudly say that he is the best man I have ever known. I believe that it is likely the essence of his great character that all the participants are picking up in his workshops. To have the highest standards for oneself and to want that standard for others is what drives his passion in his workshops. I am glad that all participants are seeing what I have known all along!"
